U.S. Imposes 12.5% Tariff on Israeli Goods Under Forced-Labor Trade Action

The United States announced an additional 12.5% Section 301 tariff on Israeli products, effective for goods entered from 12:01 a.m. Eastern time on July 24. The action covers 60 trading partners and follows investigations into whether they imposed and effectively enforced bans on imports made with forced labor. U.S. trade officials placed Israel among economies receiving the 12.5% rate, subject to specified product exemptions. The duties take effect as a temporary 10% worldwide surcharge expires and exclude categories including certain raw materials and products whose tariffs could cause economy-wide disruption.
