Dollar Weakens 0.2% Against Shekel at Start of Fed Week

The dollar fell 0.2% against the shekel in early Monday trading, changing hands above NIS 3.04, while the U.S. dollar index lost roughly 0.3% against a basket of major currencies. The global pullback followed the weekend pause in U.S.-Iran strikes, which lowered oil prices and improved market risk appetite. Investors are awaiting Wednesday’s Federal Reserve decision, with futures pricing about a one-in-three chance of a quarter-point increase. Israeli economists said tighter U.S. policy would make further monetary easing by the Bank of Israel more difficult.
