Police Arrest Suspected Car Thief After He Rams Patrol Cars Near Kiryat Ye'arim

Jerusalem District officers arrested a suspected car thief near Kiryat Ye'arim on Friday morning after police said he rammed two patrol cars during a reckless escape attempt. The collision stopped the vehicle, and the suspect fled on foot while officers pursued him and fired in an effort to make the arrest. Police said he was found after extensive searches with light injuries and would be questioned after medical treatment. A policewoman involved in the pursuit was evacuated with light injuries from the patrol-car impact. A civilian was also reported lightly injured, apparently by a fragment from the gunfire.
