Uganda Unveils Monument Honoring Yoni Netanyahu at Entebbe

Uganda unveiled a monument honoring Lt. Col. Yonatan “Yoni” Netanyahu at the historic old Entebbe terminal, where he was killed leading the 1976 hostage rescue. Uganda’s armed-forces commander, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, led the ceremony and said the memorial reflects an enduring security partnership, mutual trust and diplomatic reconciliation with Israel. He said it honors courage, the protection of innocent lives and devotion to duty. The ceremony also remembered four hostages killed in the crisis, and officials pledged deeper cooperation in peace, security, innovation and sustainable development.
