State Archives Release Entebbe Protocols at 50
Israel's State Archives released thousands of previously classified Operation Entebbe documents on June 26 ahead of the rescue's 50th anniversary. AP, JPost, JNS, i24 and Euronews report that the files include cabinet and security deliberations, recordings, photographs and diplomatic correspondence from the week after Palestinian and German terrorists hijacked an Air France flight and held Israeli and Jewish hostages in Uganda. The documents show Israel weighing negotiations while preparing the long-range raid that rescued more than 100 hostages. Entebbe still teaches a Zionist lesson: talk when it buys time, but keep the power to rescue Jews when terror leaves no moral alternative.
