IDF Requires Chief of Staff Approval for Targeted Gaza Strikes

Israeli reporting says the IDF has tightened Gaza strike rules, with targeted killings now requiring approval from Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir. One account says troops may still strike immediate threats and that broader targeted operations also need political-level approval, while another says the new rule covers all Gaza strikes. Previously, such operations could be cleared by Southern Command chief Maj. Gen. Yaniv Asor or division commanders in the Strip.
