IDF Soldier Moderately Wounded by Munition Shrapnel in South Lebanon

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of a file of Israeli soldiers in helmets and combat packs advancing on foot across a green south Lebanon hillside scattered with pale rocks and low brush, the Mediterranean visible as a flat blue band on the horizon behind them, a dark conifer and a bare tree framing the scene, and one soldier in the foreground walking away from the viewer along a reddish dirt track, rendered in warm ochre and slate-blue chalk and pastel strokes on textured paper.

An IDF soldier was moderately wounded on Saturday during operational activity in southern Lebanon, the IDF Spokesperson said. The military said the soldier was struck by munition shrapnel, was evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment, and that his family had been notified. The army also described the incident as an operational accident. The IDF released no further details on the exact location, the unit involved, or the source of the shrapnel that wounded him.
