39-Nation Maritime Coalition Moves Into Operational Activation Phase

Representatives of 39 countries met at Saudi Arabia's Western Fleet Command in Jeddah as the Multinational Maritime Defense Coalition moved from planning into institutional and operational activation. Fifteen countries have signed its joint statement, while 13 have completed national procedures, signed the charter and formally joined. The coalition appointed a Saudi commander and a Pakistani deputy commander for its first term, designated its headquarters and adopted an emblem. It finalized arrangements for a joint command, maritime operations center and intelligence center focused on navigation, strategic waterways, trade routes and global supply chains.
