Jerusalem Completes Citywide School Readiness Push Two Weeks Before First Bell

The Jerusalem Municipality completed a citywide readiness drive for tens of thousands of pupils ahead of the school year opening September 1. School security officers finished safety sweeps of education institutions, checked protection components for emergency scenarios and renewed contracts with security companies. The municipal road-safety headquarters fixed hazard points and improved signage near schools, crews repainted hundreds of crosswalks, and inspectors will reinforce junctions at peak hours. Sanitation crews cleared old equipment and cleaned school entrances, in work coordinated with security bodies, the Education Ministry and school managements. Mayor Moshe Leon said the municipality is investing extensive resources so every pupil arrives in a safe, clean and protected environment.
