Randy Fine Defeats Antisemitic Challenger Dan Bilzerian in Florida GOP Primary

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of Representative Randy Fine standing outside the United States Capitol: the middle-aged congressman fills the centre of the frame in a blue plaid suit jacket, white shirt and long patterned blue necktie, seen from a low angle with his chin lifted and his gaze turned off to the right behind wire-rimmed glasses, the Capitol's ribbed white dome and lantern rising directly behind his head against a pale washed sky, a black iron perimeter fence and a colonnade

Representative Randy Fine, Florida's only Jewish Republican in Congress, won Tuesday's primary in the state's sixth district with about 57 percent to 18 percent for influencer Dan Bilzerian. Bilzerian campaigned on explicit antisemitism, posting about a Jewish problem in the district, directing an antisemitic slur at Fine, and saying he wants to kill Israelis. An August 11 analysis found 33 percent of that campaign account's posts were antisemitic. Fine, endorsed by President Trump, the Republican Jewish Coalition and AIPAC, called the campaign against him an organized pogrom against the Jews. House Speaker Mike Johnson and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries denounced Bilzerian before the vote, as did Jewish members of Congress.
