Guitarist Matti Gurion, Son of Israel Gurion, Dies After Long Illness

Israeli guitarist and musician Matti Gurion, the son of veteran performer Israel Gurion and Miki Gurion, died Friday evening after a prolonged serious illness. His mother announced his death and mourned her son in a family statement. Matti Gurion performed alongside his father, appeared in tribute concerts devoted to the songs of the Dudaim and played in various musical productions. Israel Gurion, 90, co-founded the Dudaim with Benny Amdursky in 1958 and later performed with the Gesher HaYarkon Trio while also working as an actor, mime artist and director.
