EU High Representative Calls on Israel to Withdraw E1 Housing Tender

EU High Representative Kaja Kallas called on Israel to withdraw a government tender for more than 1,200 homes in E1. In a formal statement, she said the project would divide the West Bank and isolate East Jerusalem, describing those outcomes as harmful to a two-state solution. The EU also urged Israel to halt other settlement-expansion projects and ensure accountability for settler violence, while noting recent Israeli charges against some alleged perpetrators. The bloc reiterated support for two states living side by side in peace and security within secure, recognized borders.
