Tel Aviv Robotic Parking Collapse Damages Car, Traps Others

A car on a robotic parking lift at a residential building on Yesod HaMa'ala Street in Tel Aviv's Neve Sha'anan neighborhood fell two levels Sunday afternoon, according to residents. The driver had already exited and was not injured, but the impact damaged the vehicle, shook the building and triggered its fire alarm. Residents said six or seven other cars remained trapped in the nine-year-old facility while technicians worked at the site. Operator Parkomat said a malfunction damaged the car but disputed residents' safety concerns and said users had not been endangered.
