Luke Gosling Temporarily Stands Aside From Australian Special Envoy Roles

Australian Labor MP Luke Gosling said he would temporarily stand aside as special envoy for defence, veterans’ affairs and Northern Australia while legal proceedings continue. He said media attention was distracting from government business, denied all allegations and said he would defend himself in court. Northern Territory Police said Gosling was charged with one count of breaching bail over an alleged August 14 breach and was summoned to Darwin Local Court on September 30. The bail conditions stem from two July assault charges involving Northern Territory Administrator David Connolly; Gosling remains the member for Solomon.
