Thunderstorm Warning Takes Effect Across Northern Israel Until 6 a.m.

An Israel Meteorological Service yellow warning took effect at 2 a.m. Sunday for thunderstorms and lightning across northern Israel and the northern Mediterranean. The warning remains valid until 6 a.m. A separate orange warning says the Mediterranean will be high and dangerous for swimming from 10 p.m. Saturday until 10 a.m. Sunday. The service also issued advance orange heat-stress warnings for the Jordan Valley and northern Arava from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, and for the southern Judean Desert and Dead Sea from 11 a.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday.
