IDF Says 27 Looting Probes Led to Two Indictments Since 2023

The IDF said 27 Military Police investigations into suspected looting in Gaza and Lebanon since 2023 produced two indictments. Its Freedom of Information response listed 25 Gaza probes, three opened in 2023, 19 in 2024, two in 2025 and one in the first half of 2026, alongside two Lebanon probes opened in 2024 and 2025. Both indictments were filed in 2025 and ended in plea agreements, one for looting and one for theft after a reduced charge. The IDF said every such suspicion is examined thoroughly and disciplinary or criminal action follows when sufficient evidence exists.
