Senator Ed Markey defeated Representative Seth Moulton in Massachusetts's Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate, securing the nomination and advancing to November's general election. Markey, 80, is seeking a third full Senate term; Moulton, 47, called to concede and congratulate him, according to Markey's campaign. The campaign said Markey's victory was powered by young people and the progressive movement. Markey is a prominent congressional critic of Israel, and his primary victory keeps him on the ballot for another Senate term.
