Missouri Seeks U.S. Supreme Court Stay to Restore 2025 Congressional Map

Missouri asked the U.S. Supreme Court to stay a state ruling that requires the 2022 congressional map for the November 3 election while voters consider a referendum on the 2025 map. The emergency filing seeks an administrative stay by Missouri’s September 8 ballot-change deadline and a decision by September 14. It says military and overseas absentee ballots must begin going out September 19 and argues the state may not have enough time to switch maps. Justice Brett Kavanaugh requested a response by noon EDT on September 7.
