White House Reportedly Reviews Replacements for Defense Deputy Steve Feinberg

Three people familiar with the discussions said the White House has reviewed possible replacements for Deputy Defense Secretary Steve Feinberg, with deliberations beginning by June and continuing through late August. The review included conversations with senior senators about whether prospective nominees could be confirmed, but no candidate was named and no decision to remove Feinberg was reported. White House spokesperson Anna Kelly rejected the account, while Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Feinberg has his full support and is not going anywhere. The deliberations come as U.S. weapons stocks face pressure from the Iran war and as Feinberg has urged defense contractors to accelerate production.
