Colombian President Abelardo De La Espriella said seven alleged members of the FARC dissident Estado Mayor Central’s Franco Benavides front were killed during military operations in El Peñol, Nariño, and five people were captured. He also reported that forces found five coca-base-processing laboratories and seized 1,007 gallons of liquid inputs and 175 kilograms of solid inputs. In Barrancabermeja, he said authorities seized 6,000 milliliters of ketamine and 600 milliliters of fentanyl. The president presented the figures as part of continuing pressure after attacks on soldiers and police; independent confirmation was not immediately available.
