Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary opened an investigation after officers were injured and emergency-service vehicles were damaged during an anti-migrant protest in Portsmouth. Police said a handful of officers were treated at the scene and none of the injuries was serious, while police, Coastguard and Border Force vehicles sustained damage. Around 200 protesters left at about 4 a.m. after roads near Eastney Landing were blocked. Border Force told police that about 140 people aboard a small boat had been safely disembarked and taken outside Hampshire for normal processing.
