The Tel Aviv District Court approved Google location-tracking settlements on October 6, an outcome first disclosed on October 7. Google will pay about NIS 8.3 million to the Class Action Fund for privacy protection under settlements covering Android and iOS users. The lawsuits alleged that location data was collected despite users disabling location settings; Google denied wrongdoing, and the settlements include no admission of liability. The approved arrangements also include emails, a banner and explanatory links intended to clarify how Google collects and uses location data.
