Beersheba Magistrate’s Court sentenced Ram Shaheen to seven years in prison for aggravated theft and fraud involving sound equipment taken from the Nova festival site after the October 7 terrorist attack. Daniel Hasson received 40 months after admitting attempted aggravated fraud under a plea agreement. The equipment belonged to a company whose partner, sound technician Matan Lior, was killed while helping evacuate injured people; the defendants falsely claimed they were collecting a friend’s property. Shaheen was also fined NIS 60,000 and ordered to pay NIS 75,000 to Lior’s family and NIS 25,000 to Amitai Nahum.
