Flydubai reportedly requested permission to resume flights to Israel after telling Israeli officials it had completed its review of the September 30 flight incident. The carrier reportedly said it identified the failure points and dismissed a significant number of employees connected to the breached security arrangements. An October 6 report said Transportation Minister Miri Regev and Civil Aviation Authority head Shmuel Zakai were refusing the request. Senior United Arab Emirates officials also approached Israel about restoring the service, while senior Israeli Transportation Ministry officials were invited to visit Dubai the following week.
