Israeli Authorities Review Approvals for Omani Flydubai Pilots, Report Says

Israeli authorities are reportedly reviewing how approvals were granted to dozens of Omani Flydubai pilots who landed in Israel over recent years. The information emerged during checks following Wednesday's cockpit incident involving an Omani first officer. Israel and Oman do not have diplomatic relations. The review is examining what aircrew identity information the airline provided, whether officials knew the pilots' nationality, and whether earlier approvals followed existing procedures. It is also expected to consider changes to foreign-aircrew screening and approval rules; the report identifies no finding of unlawful approvals or involvement by the other pilots.
