UAE Attorney General Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi has ordered a specialized Public Prosecution team to investigate the September 30 incident aboard Flydubai flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv. The team has begun work with the General Civil Aviation Authority and other authorities to establish the circumstances, motives and evidence. Its remit includes examining whether the incident had a terrorist purpose and whether there was prior planning or direction. Al Shamsi urged restraint until the facts are established; the announcement did not report a finding of terrorism or external direction.
