President Isaac Herzog called for closer cooperation on aviation security after the attempted attack aboard a Flydubai flight to Israel. In an interview on Monday, he said an intensive investigation was examining gaps and failures, with relevant agencies in neighboring countries cooperating. Herzog described emerging information as evidence that aviation coordination needed to improve and said future protection must reflect the lessons of the incident. He also said Iran must not gain access to nuclear capabilities and called for countries to fight terrorism together as Israel marked its October 7 memorial week.
