Flydubai's 2020 Letter Said Israel-Bound Crew Nationality Restrictions Were Applied

A 2020 letter newly disclosed on Sunday says Flydubai assured Israel's Transport Ministry that nationality restrictions required for crews on flights to Israel had already been incorporated into its crew-scheduling system. The letter was addressed to the ministry's aviation-security operations center. Sunday's reporting contrasts that assurance with the checks required for private flights, whose operators must submit pilots' employment records, passports and other particulars three days before departure. It says commercial-flight approval instead involves broader checks of airlines and the security arrangements in their home countries.
