Investigators Reportedly Check Whether Flydubai Suspect Previously Flew to Israel

Investigators are reportedly checking whether Hamam al-Hammami, the Omani copilot suspected in the attempted attack aboard an Israel-bound Flydubai flight, had previously arrived in Israel as a pilot. The newly reported inquiry contrasts with initial briefings after the incident, which denied that possibility. Transport Ministry officials reportedly did not rule it out but said they currently had no information establishing earlier flights by him. The attempted attack was thwarted by Indian captain Smit Machchhar and Israeli passengers.
