Katz Orders Civilian Cargo Flights to Bring Israelis’ Luggage Home From Dubai

Defense Minister Israel Katz instructed the Defense Ministry on Saturday morning to send cargo aircraft to Dubai to bring Israeli passengers’ luggage back to Israel. The decision was coordinated with security agencies and relevant government ministries. The aircraft were to be civilian cargo planes, with the first flight expected to depart that morning. UAE authorities had required separate cargo aircraft for baggage on repatriation flights, a condition that previously delayed Arkia’s departure. The instruction followed overnight passenger returns to Ben Gurion Airport, including an Israir flight carrying about 180 Israelis.
