The UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority commended captain Machchhar Smit, the crew of Flydubai flight FZ1073 and passengers who helped bring the incident under control. The authority credited their quick, decisive intervention with preventing more serious consequences. It said the captain had returned safely to the UAE, was in good condition and was receiving necessary medical treatment. A Public Prosecution team formed on the Union Attorney-General’s orders continues investigating with regional and international authorities; the regulator declined to comment on circulating claims before findings are released through official channels.
