First Arkia Repatriation Flight Departs Dubai for Israel

Arkia’s first repatriation flight carrying Israelis home departed Dubai for Ben Gurion Airport on Friday evening, after the dispute over baggage arrangements was resolved. Emirati authorities had demanded a separate cargo aircraft accompany each passenger flight to carry travelers’ luggage. Arkia had offered an additional aircraft for the baggage, while Emirati officials sought the same arrangement for subsequent flights. Another Israir departure was still expected, as Flydubai’s suspension of flights to Israel remained in effect until further notice.
