Israeli officials say the Flydubai copilot suspected in the September 30 attack intended to crash the aircraft at Ben Gurion Airport and cause mass casualties. According to the reported investigation findings, he began trying to seize control over Jordan, with a U.S. military base there considered an alternative target. Officials also say he planned an attack in July but postponed it because he felt close to a crew member. The alleged plan was to incapacitate the captain with an emergency axe, but the captain resisted.
