An American delegation currently in the United Arab Emirates is reportedly expected in Israel in coming days to examine compliance with U.S. security requirements for visa-free entry. Transportation Minister Miri Regev proposed requiring all arriving passengers and crew to complete visa paperwork or an accepted alternative document 48 hours before departure. She also requested NIS 40 million and 10 ministry positions for charter-flight safety responsibilities. Officials questioned the document proposal because other countries could impose reciprocal requirements on Israelis. A National Security Council discussion on responsibilities and funding is expected Thursday.
