Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of Gilad Kariv in a blue shirt, dark blazer and gray kippah, based on an archival 2015 portrait for context

Gilad Kariv pledged on October 7 that a package of bills developed under the leadership of many hostage families would be introduced on the first day of the next Knesset. He said the proposals would also be brought into coalition negotiations. Kariv described an obligation toward those who returned alive, those returned for burial, and all the families. His statement sets out a commitment for the next Knesset and coalition talks. The post does not name the bills or specify their provisions, and does not announce their passage.
