Government Approves National Rehabilitation Authority for Wounded Security Personnel

Israel’s government approved the Mor-Yosef Committee recommendations and a comprehensive overhaul of treatment and rehabilitation for wounded IDF and security personnel. The Defense Ministry’s Rehabilitation Department will become a national authority, gain staff and autonomy, and use advanced technology and artificial intelligence to reduce delays. Each wounded person will receive a professional case manager coordinating benefits, while recognition procedures, medical committees, mental-health services and family support are set to expand. The decision, developed with the IDF Disabled Veterans Organization, also creates automatic information links with the National Insurance Institute, health funds and ministries to help eligible people receive benefits without repeated applications.
