Katz Demands Immediate Approval of NIS 25 Billion Rehabilitation Plan

Defense Minister Israel Katz called on Finance Ministry officials to stop delaying implementation of the Mor-Yosef Committee’s recommendations and permit immediate approval, as promised and directed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Katz said about 25,000 wounded service members have joined the Defense Ministry’s Rehabilitation Department since October 7, with roughly 62% facing mental-health injuries or post-traumatic stress. He said the department is expected to care for about 100,000 people by 2028 and urged approval of the full recommendations and roughly NIS 25 billion needed over the coming decade. Katz said every additional day of delay harms wounded service members and their families.
