Publication was permitted Wednesday of the name of Prof. Shahar Nevo, a Bar-Ilan University mathematics lecturer from Petah Tikva, charged two days earlier in Lod District Court. The indictment accuses him of preparing a terrorist act, extortion by threats and obstruction of justice. Prosecutors allege that, beginning in February 2023, he planned attacks on Arab Israeli citizens, including Bedouins, and Palestinians in East Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria, envisioning 72 participants in 12 cells. His public defenders said the proceedings were at an early stage and that they would review the investigation materials before deciding their next steps.
