Prosecutors Seek Citizenship Revocation for Two Men Convicted of Aiding Hamas

State prosecutors asked the Central District Court on Wednesday to revoke the citizenship of Rani Ouf and Shadi Aidi, former Cellcom employees convicted of aiding an enemy during wartime and passing information intended to harm state security. The request, approved by the attorney general and submitted at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's direction under his interior-minister authority, is the first filed through a criminal proceeding for breach of loyalty. The men used extensive systems access to plan disruption of Cellcom infrastructure during war for Hamas. Ouf received 11 years in prison in 2024; Aidi received five and a half years.
