Work Begins on 170-Meter Crocodile Moat Around Ketziot Prison Wing

Excavation began at Ketziot Prison for a roughly 170-meter moat around a special wing holding Hamas Nukhba terrorists. The National Security Ministry said the pilot formally started after Environmental Protection Minister Idit Silman classified the Nile crocodile as cultivated wildlife, enabling the Israel Prison Service to hold the animals. The ministry said the plan covers crocodile care, rest enclosures and training for prison guards. Ramat Negev Regional Council head Eran Doron criticized the project and said the council was not consulted, while the Crocoloco farm said nobody had approached it about supplying crocodiles.
