Urich Reportedly Met Qatari Official at Least Twice in Europe During War

Yonatan Urich, an adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, reportedly met Ali al-Thawadi, described as close to Qatar’s emir, at least twice in Europe in July 2024. One meeting reportedly took place in Berlin with Israel Einhorn and lobbyist Jay Footlik present. The meetings were described as private dealings rather than an Israeli diplomatic assignment. During questioning in May 2025, Urich said he barely remembered one meeting; Netanyahu reportedly testified that Urich had not told him about the Qatar ties. Responding to the new disclosure, Urich reiterated his denial that he had met Footlik.
