Yaakov Shahar Reportedly Seeks $100 Million Sale of Maccabi Haifa

Yaakov Shahar is reportedly seeking $100 million for the sale of all of Maccabi Haifa, in an ownership plan disclosed on October 14. Shahar and his partners, the heirs of Israel Kaz, have engaged investment bank Raine Group to find a buyer. A proposed investor group would combine a 51% majority owner with technology entrepreneurs holding 49%, each investing $5–10 million; Verbit cofounder Tom Livne is leading the entrepreneurs’ initiative through the Greentech supporters’ forum. The club confirmed the sale effort, while Shahar said the entrepreneur group had not approached him. No completed sale or buyer has been announced.
