Israel's Climate Summit Delegation Still Awaits Security Approval

Israel's Environmental Protection Ministry says security officials have not yet approved a joint delegation with the Foreign Ministry to next month's UN climate conference in Turkey. The ministry said it submitted a request on behalf of both ministries and that the matter is being reconsidered, with no final decision made. COP31 is scheduled for November 9–20 in Antalya, with Turkey hosting and Australia leading the negotiations. Tel Aviv University Climate Initiative head Prof. Colin Price warned that staying away would limit Israel's opportunities for international professional contacts and cooperation.
