Navon Condemns Japanese Flag Desecration, Affirms Solidarity With Japan

Emmanuel Navon, Israel's ambassador-designate to Japan, condemned what he described as the desecration of Japan's national flag in a Japanese-language statement published early on October 19. He said the same demonstrators protest daily outside the Israeli embassy and carry two other flags that he associated with hostility to free nations. Navon expressed Israel's solidarity with Japan and its national flag. He added that the Japanese flag is displayed with pride inside the Israeli ambassador's residence.
