Leiter Says Blood Libels Against Israel Have Spread Across Europe

Israel’s ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter, said Saturday evening that blood libels against Israel had spread across Europe, comparing them with medieval lies about Jews. He said people who still cared about the truth were fighting back. His statement quoted an earlier announcement by Israel’s embassy in Washington about the Italian translation of his booklet, Manufacturing a Modern Blood Libel. The embassy said Bonnie Rose translated the booklet and Senator Giulio Terzi, a former Italian ambassador to Israel, launched it at the Italian Senate that week.
