Yiftach Sasson Recalls 931L Travel Adapter Over Electric-Shock and Fire Risks

Israeli distributor Yiftach Sasson announced on Monday a recall of the China-made EUROPE TRAVEL UNIVERSAL ADAPTOR, model 931L, barcode 6944284452183, after testing found electrical and fire hazards. Tests commissioned by the Standards Commissioner through the Standards Institute found that the adapter fails the mandatory Israeli standard: its design permits contact with live parts and lacks earthing protection for appliances that require it. Insufficient mechanical strength can allow the adapter to break apart and its pins to separate when removed from a socket, while inadequate heat resistance can cause its plastic to melt or burn. The distributor instructed holders to stop using it immediately and contact it for further information.
