Col. Tom Peretz Selected to Command Jordan Valley Brigade

Col. Tom Peretz has been selected to command the IDF’s Jordan Valley Brigade, which guards the Jordanian border and communities in its sector. Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir chaired the personnel discussion on Monday, and the selection requires Defense Minister Israel Katz’s approval. Peretz, the son of former IDF chief rabbi Rabbi Rafi Peretz, served during the past year as deputy commander of Division 96 on the Jordanian border. He previously served as deputy commander of the 7th Brigade and fought in Gaza during the war.
