Police Arrest 21 in Suspected Multimillion-Shekel Fraud Linked to Gaza Engineering Work

Police arrested 21 suspects, including civilians, career military personnel and contractors, on Tuesday morning in an investigation into suspected fraud involving millions of shekels. The allegations concern engineering-equipment work carried out in the Gaza Strip, where the IDF needed civilian companies’ heavy equipment after the Swords of Iron war began. Lahav 433’s southern economic-enforcement unit, the Israel Tax Authority and the Military Police Criminal Investigation Division conducted an undercover investigation lasting several months. Police said the case, now in its overt phase, concerns suspected obtaining of property by deception, money laundering and bribery.
