Givat Shmuel Plans Original Storybook Readings for First Graders

Givat Shmuel has prepared an original storybook for local first graders, and Mayor Yossi Brodny is expected to read it during upcoming school visits. The initiative adds a locally written story to the mayor’s annual meetings with first-grade classes. Its main character is a child facing the excitement and fears of starting school, with familiar city parks and gardens providing the setting. An inner compass helps frame the story’s themes of self-trust and finding one’s way. The author, Gili Varon, heads the birth-to-three section in the municipal education department and holds a master’s degree in creative writing.
