Shin Bet Chief Reportedly Met French Security Officials in Paris

Shin Bet chief David Zini reportedly visited Paris on October 20 for a working visit arranged in advance. He was reported to have met senior officials from France’s domestic security service, DGSI, and its foreign intelligence service, DGSE, to discuss counterterrorism and Islamist extremism. The report said the meetings went ahead despite political and diplomatic tensions between Israel and France. Shin Bet declined to confirm the meetings or provide details, saying it does not discuss its chief’s schedule. The account did not identify the French participants or report a signed agreement.
